He was selected to two All-Star teams and earned a reputation as a dependable arm who could help both in the rotation and the bullpen. Fryman may not be one of the most famous pitchers of his era, but he was a respected competitor who carved out a long and successful career in the big leagues. Dave Kingman was one of baseball’s most feared power hitters, known for his towering home runs and long, powerful swing. In a 16-season MLB career, he finished with 442 home runs, 1,210 RBIs, and 1,816 strikeouts. Kingman played for the Giants, Mets, Padres, Angels, Cubs, and Athletics, and he was a three-time All-Star. He led the National League in home runs in 1979 with 48 and in 1982 with 37, a reminder of just how dangerous he could be when he connected.
