Dave Kingman was one of baseball’s most feared power hitters, known for his towering home runs and long, powerful swing. In a 16-season MLB career, he finished with 442 home runs, 1,210 RBIs, and 1,816 strikeouts. Kingman played for the Giants, Mets, Padres, Angels, Cubs, and Athletics, and he was a three-time All-Star. He led the National League in home runs in 1979 with 48 and in 1982 with 37, a reminder of just how dangerous he could be when he connected. Although he was never known as a high-average hitter, Kingman’s raw power made him one of the most memorable sluggers of his era.
