Poster: Pete Rose

Image
“Charlie Hustle” Pete Rose was one of the most accomplished and recognizable figures in baseball history. As a player, he became the all-time MLB hits leader with 4,256 hits, won three World Series, earned an MVP award, three batting titles, and made 17 All-Star teams across an extraordinary career with the Reds, Phillies, and Expos. Rose also remained deeply involved in the game as a manager, guiding the Cincinnati Reds from 1984 to 1989 and adding another chapter to his long and complicated baseball legacy. His impact on the sport was enormous on both sides of the dugout, even as his name became one of the most debated in baseball history. In a time before modern ballparks, modern gloves, or modern stats, Meyerle still stood out as one of the game’s true offensive forces. What makes Meyerle so interesting is how much of baseball history he represents. He played for teams like the Philadelphia Athletics, Chicago White Stockings, Cincinnati Reds, and Philadel...
