What is this all about?

As a baseball fan, I had this idea in my head for more than 10 years: I wanted to have an informatic tool that allowed me to have the best players of the game, having them apart of the just regular players. I dreamed to have together members of the Hall of Fame, All-Stars, award winners and stats leaders.

In my first try, I tried to elaborate a spreadsheet in Excel, but it took me to much work and proved to be very unpractical.

Later, I found the great database compiled by Sean Lahman. I worked with it for a while, but my knowledge in databases proved to be outdated and just not enough. Don't take me wrong, I made it work, but I couldn't make it do what I needed.

Finally, I came up with the idea of writing a blog, where I could write articles about the players I select and share it with the world! I could have feedbacks from my readers, fellow baseball fans or just occasional readers, and have interesting discussions about baseball, players, teams... the benefits are such that I didn't think twice.

As I am working on this, my beloved blog, you will find the main articles about the greatest MLB players, as well as a hyperlinked list of teams, awards, stats.

You could quickly notice that there are not full stats on my player's articles. The reason is that there are already good sites, like Baseball Reference and The Baseball Cube, so I preferred to focus on present new things to you.

One of those new features is the Wall of Glory, where you can see a "resume" of that player's career, let's say, his "pedigree".

One other exciting new thing is the "Five Best Seasons". I say "exciting", because I got a lot of fun developing the formulas that allow me to choose those seasons. Yes, the best seasons that I present to you are selected by mathematical methods. But it could be interesting to discuss with you about it.

I even included what I expect to be a business that allows me to work at home and make a living: im talking about "Grand Slam Baseball Mega Store", where you can buy baseball-related merchandising and products, through affiliate marketing.

Keep coming to visit my blog and my store!. New content and features will come!
