Dave Kingman was one of baseball’s most feared power hitters, known for his towering home runs and long, powerful swing. In a 16-season MLB career, he finished with 442 home runs, 1,210 RBIs, and 1,816 strikeouts. Kingman played for the Giants, Mets, Padres, Angels, Cubs, and Athletics, and he was a three-time All-Star. He led the National League in home runs in 1979 with 48 and in 1982 with 37, a reminder of just how dangerous he could be when he connected. Although he was never known as a high-average hitter, Kingman’s raw power made him one of the most memorable sluggers of his era. Joe I do not know how you could do 250 deep knee bends catching pitches and warm ups, catch pitches in the dirt, get hit with foul balls, encourage your pitcher, coax the umpire, see if batter has made any adjustments, and hit for average. YOU HAD INCREDIBLE SKILLS AND TOUGHNESS OVER A LONG CAREER Happy Birthday~Lee Beam
